Full Job Description

  • Develop scope of project looking at:


  • Highest spend contracts / products.


  • Spend on contractors.


  • Establish priority list of actions for challenging the current spend portfolio.


  • Create a competitive marketplace to:


  • Drive down costs.


  • Introduce new suppliers.


  • Introduce better discounted contracts with new and incumbent suppliers.


  • Identify options for consignment stock and consumables.


  • VMI models / pay on usage / reduce inventory holdings.


  • Investigate integrator options.


  • Look to obtain minimum of £25K savings for 2024.


  • Develop a playbook for other sites to benefit from the learnings / improvements from Moodiesburn.

    You will have demonstrable experience of liaising with and dealing with engineering-based suppliers, electrical, mechanical and spares management. You will be confident and comfortable leading on supplier engagement for goods and services. You enjoy working on direct and indirect procurement including supplier negotiation and thrive on working to tight and competing deadlines, displaying confidence in your dealings with internal and external suppliers.


  • You will have strong numeracy skills and have excellent planning and time management skills. You are a confident self-starter and enjoy communicating with and influencing individuals at all levels.

    Ideally you will be working towards or have membership of CIPS. You will be commercially aware and confident with usage of an ERP system and Microsoft Office.
