VACANCY

Production Planner/Scheduler (WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING 2 PEOPLE)


LOCATION

You will have a choice of being based at the companies GLASGOW site or their STOCKPORT site near Manchester


SALARY

£33000 - 38000


HOURS

37 hours per week spread over 4.5 days (early lunchtime finish each Friday)


25 days hols plus 8 stats

OVERVIEW

This HUGELY successful and very well established international engineering manufacturer are undergoing exciting expansion plans and are now seeking TWO Production Planners/Schedulers.


THE ROLE

Reporting to Planning Manager, the planner/schedulers will oversee and plan

production schedules, working closely with sourcing/purchasing to ensure that

material availability aligns with manufacturing.


The planner/schedulers also compile and distributes reports to ensure that customers and internal teams (manufacturing, shipping, customer service, projects and finance) are serviced with product and order availability information


The planner/schedulers will actively achieve KPI's which will maximise company turnover, profit, customer satisfaction and on-time delivery, through well constructed plans and management of resources.


DUTIES

• Create production schedules from MRP output that balance customer needs, material availability and capacity constraints.

• Develop useful working relationships with Production Supervisors, Buyers and

others to ensure that schedules are understood and achieved.

• Collect data on reasons why a schedule is missed and collate into useful

information for management review and action.

• Create reports and other tools as needed to support the planning process.

• Provide information and support as requested to other departments.

• To identify and instigate process / product improvements.

• To train and mentor other staff as required


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Excellent level of numeracy and literacy

• Able to work under pressure and responds quickly to changes

• Proactive, motivated, well organised and able to work well with others.

• 5 years + experience in similar manufacturing/planning role

• Excellent understanding of ERP system (SAP or similar)

• Excellent MS Excel skills

• Excellent Product/ Production method knowledge and understanding
