Full Job Description

The Byre Theatre is looking for an experienced and efficient Programme Administrator to join its busy and professional team.

The Byre is a theatre and venue in St Andrews, part of the University of St Andrews. It hosts a varied and vibrant programme of University, amateur and professional touring productions of theatre, dance, musicals, music and opera as well as festivals, screenings and events.

This is a key role within the Marketing and Programme department of the Byre Theatre, working as part of a highly skilled team to deliver an exceptionally busy programme of performances and events, as well as providing appropriate cover for colleagues in the Programme and Marketing team as and when required.

The Programme Administrator is the organisational hub of information transfer and will work closely with the Directors and Head of Programme and Marketing on all aspects of administration of the programme at the Byre, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept, liaising between artists and producers from a range of backgrounds and all teams at the Byre including Visitor Services and Technical and Operations.

  • Experience of administrative, financial processes and systems

  • Good organisational skills

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure

  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks, projects and priorities at one time

  • Ability to suggest and implement robust solutions to improve processes and procedures
