Hosted by RGU, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is one of 20 Scottish Government funded Regional Groups in Scotland helping employers to connect to young people in education. We work with employers, schools, and partners within the youth employability landscape to enhance insights and provide inspiration and experience for young people in education to prepare them for the next step in their journey beyond school. DYW Regional Groups play a key role in the delivery of the Young Person's Guarantee (YPG) which aims to connect every 16-24 year old in Scotland to an opportunity. This opportunity could include a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training, volunteering or an enterprise opportunity., To design and deliver programmes/projects aligned to our Scottish Government's DYW Regional Group KPIs, which are issued annually. Working as part of a team, you will support our strategic objectives by leading on programme/project development.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

Projects - You will research, propose, design and deliver new projects which will add to our portfolio of activity. You will develop the project plan and work with others to deliver.

Regional programmes -responsible for developing, reviewing, and updating DYWNE Sector Based Employer activity frameworks in line with strategy and operational plans. Our frameworks provide a plethora of opportunities for employers to engage with education through DYWNE created activity and/or partner programmes. Our frameworks align to the Regional Growth Sectors to provide information for our young people.

Data - we collect various levels of data internally and through a CRM system. Using this data will allow you to to identify any gaps and make recommendations for projects/programmes.

Management Team - this role is plays an active role in the DYWNE Management team. Working with colleagues you will support our strategic ambitions.

Working as a part of the management team, you will be expected to lead, review, and develop employer sector-based activity frameworks to make it easier for employers to connect with education. You will utilise available data and resources and work closely with your colleagues and the wider team to contribute to these frameworks to ensure the activities are relevant and fresh. The region's growth sectors feature heavily within our frameworks as we aim to deliver employer-based activities in the region's 28 secondary schools, aligning to the Regional Economic Strategy. You will be the key lead on internal projects and will need to be a great communicator and have excellent planning and organisation skills, along with being creative and finding solutions with the ability to think outside the box., The right candidate will: -

Demonstrate ability to develop programmes from research and initiation to delivery.

Be an excellent team player.

Be able to work to deadlines whilst updating stakeholders and partners appropriately.

Be highly driven enthusiastic and motivated and a team player.

Be experienced in managing and prioritising own workload, working as part of a team to deliver.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivery to a variety of audiences.

Be passionate about inspiring the next generation .

Have excellent MS Office skills.

Hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle to travel locally
