Full Job Description

  • Become a core member of key assignments and key workstreams to meet and exceed client expectations.

  • Input into the production of key reports to a good standard, managing input from colleagues where applicable.

  • Engage with key clients, support the manager acting as a day-to-day point of contact.

  • Take an active role in self-development, working with your People Manager to produce and implement a personal development plan for technical and personal skills.

  • Support development of specific deliverables.

  • Proactively take ownership of issues arising across the team, working with colleagues to find solutions to issues/challenges.

  • Monitor resource deployment against budgets, produce periodic reporting for clients, manage recovery of fees, forecast billing for assignments, raise invoices and monitor debtors.

  • Identify and support the management of risk in line with the firm's policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to the firm's quality management systems and support a culture of rigorous quality management in the team.

    Qualified with a recognised accounting body or equivalent experience

  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders, and working within changing project timeframes

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and exceed client expectations

  • A demonstrable interest in the public sector and in our key industries

  • A commercial mind with an ability to understand contractual requirements

  • Good understanding of financial statements with an analytical and numerical approach to problem solving

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to produce clear, structured reports.

  • The Advisory team is one of two core teams (alongside our One Consulting team) within Public Services Advisory, and we provide more than generic financial advice. To meet the challenges faced by central and local government and to deliver optimal solutions, we have assembled a dynamic team of financial advisers that have in-depth experience and expertise across our key industries. As specialists in the public sector, with direct experience of the specific industry issues needed to create successful projects, we understand the complex matrix of issues that can help or hinder the delivery of a project.
