Full Job Description

Barnardo's Children's Right's and Advocacy Service has been established in Fife for more than 22 years. The provision supports children and young people aged 5-18 years of age who are Care Experienced at Home or Away from Home, in Kinship Care, in Foster Care or in Residential Care. They can also support young people who are in Continuing Care, up to the age of 21 through the provision of rights representation, advocacy, and rights advice & information.

Advocacy support is also provided to young people at Child Protection Planning meetings.

An opportunity has arisen within this service for you to join an established and committed team to provide Right's representation for the children and young people of Fife as described above. You will have an opportunity to become part of and develop the service to ensure that Children's Rights are at the centre of decision making in Fife.

An experience of Right's and/or Advocacy work would be extremely desirable as would have an ability to engage with children, young people, and partner agencies. An understanding or knowledge of legislation surrounding UNCRC, The Promise and The Children's Hearing System would be helpful.
