Full Job Description

We are delighted to be working closely with a busy regional build and fit-out contractor to source an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Glasgow based team. Delivering projects across a range of sectors, including retail, commercial, healthcare, and industrial, they have secured a strong pipeline of work across the central belt.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience working within a main contracting environment, ideally on projects £2m-£5m in value, and will be a driven and strategic individual who will take responsibility for managing and steering costs, and building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Advising and liaising with operational management on contract and commercial matters.
  • Advising on all commercial reports; assuring valuations are maximised and paid on time.
  • Reporting on monthly costs, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing cost forecasts.
  • Ensuring quotations are evaluated carefully and comply with project specifications.
  • Successfully managing sub-contractor accounts.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or alternative relevant disciple.
  • Have demonstrable experience (ideally a minimum of 4 years) as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

In return, our client offers a competitive salary, the opportunity to work on a diverse range of new-build, refurbishment and fit-out projects, and genuine opportunity for career development!

If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up-to-date CV, or for more information, contact Rachel Anderson at rachel.anderson@contractscotland.co.uk quoting J42645.
