Full Job Description

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the Surveying, Estimating and Project Teams, you will provide effective day to day commercial support and monitor expenditure to ensure commercial viability of current contracts. You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of monthly valuations and final accounts to approved timescales and will undertake subcontractor procurement, payments and negotiation of final accounts to ensure optimal efficiency and profitability in the business. From time to time, you will take an active role in the preparation of new work tenders.

You will be a good communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with minimal supervision on your own initiative. Key to success in this role is a methodical, planned and analytical strategy to all activities. Most importantly you will have a professional and proactive approach focused on building trust and long-term relationships with subcontractor partners and customers.

Responsibilities will include

  • Preparation and submission of monthly valuations.

  • Subcontractor procurement and payments.

  • Preparing, maintaining and reporting on cashflow forecasts.

  • On site remeasurement, recovery of variations and timeous final account agreement.

  • Reporting monthly on costs, profitability and risk.

  • Contract administration in support of the Project Team and wider business interests.

  • Preparation and submission of quotations, estimates and tender documentation when required.

    BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying is required.

  • 5 years + in a construction industry role, preferably in the bespoke sector.

  • Strong digital skills including Microsoft 365 and estimating/budget/cost software.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiating skills.

  • Proactive approach, excellent written and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

  • Clean driving licence, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and references are required.

    This a full-time position based at either our Perth or Edinburgh offices. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. Applicants will require a full current driving licence as travel to our various project locations throughout Scotland is a requirement of the role. A full role description can be provided on request.
