Receptionist / Waiter

We currently have a vacancy for a Receptionist / Waiter for the 2024 season, starting ASAP and finishing at the start of November. The post is a 'live-in' position, with food and accommodation provided, (a small deduction is made from wages to cover the cost). For role will be a mixture of reception and restaurant shifts, with the balance of these likely to change from week to week depending on how busy we are, staff holidays, etc..

The right candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and have good communication skills and attention to detail. We require a high level of customer care from all our staff. Good computer skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are also essential skills. One of the roles of the receptionist is to meet guests arriving off the ferry, and so you must be able to drive our car (have had a full driving licence for at least 2 years, and be at least 8 years past the minimum age for driving in the UK).

This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in a beautiful and unique place. You will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 and will have paid holidays during the season - so plenty of time to explore the island and the surrounding area!

The St Columba Hotel is located on a very beautiful island off the West Coast of Scotland. Although the island is small, it is a popular tourist destination and is very busy during the summer months. Our hotel has 27 bedrooms and a restaurant which serves up to 70 for dinner and many more at lunchtime.
