We are looking for an experienced dietitian to join the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service Renal Team. The person will provide a specialist nutrition and dietetic service to adults within the Renal service, this will include inpatients, outpatients and input to haemodialysis units across Tayside.

This would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 Renal Dietitian or an experienced Band 5/6 Dietitian with an interest in this specialist area, consideration could be given to this post being appointed to on a band 5/6 development basis. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams taking a pro-active approach in the clinical care of patients, service improvement, education and pathway development.

Excellent working relationships exist with dietetic colleagues throughout NHS Tayside via the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service and the Tayside Nutrition Network to develop and implement evidence-based practice, receive peer support and help to progress Continuous Professional Development. There is also a commitment to training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously are required.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Hours of work are: 37 per week, Monday to Friday (other part time hours may be considered)

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
