Job Description
To be responsible for delivering a range of housing and property repairs as directed by the Repairs/Voids Manager.
To ensure that all works are delivered to the agreed specification and within target and that resources are deployed in an efficient and effective manner.
Responsibilities
To assist the Repairs/Voids Manager as required and be responsible for identifying, and programming complex repairs and putting these on opti-time rather than paper-tickets where possible.
To procure works in accordance with the Council’s Procurement Policy and Financial Regulations and control costs to ensure that all works offer best value.
To act as the Housing Client to protect the customers interests and to ensure achievement of good quality work in liaison with other departments, sections, consultants and contractors.
To promote positive behaviours in the workplace and promote safe working within the Housing Service.
The Individual
• Sound building technology knowledge and experience
• House condition survey experience
• Computer literacy, use of a range of databases and spreadsheets
• Trade background with a good working knowledge of all building trades
• SVQ3, HNC or recognised apprenticeship in a building trade or surveying discipline.
• Full driving licence
• Energetic and enthusiastic
• Willingness to take on additional tasks
• Good organisational/planning skills
• Sound contract management skills
• Good knowledge of current CDM regulations
• Specification production and report writing skills
• Ability to monitor and negotiate with contractors and consultants
• Ability to prioritise own workload
· Good communication skills verbal and written
· Flexible attitude to team working
· Approachable and flexible
· Good standard of general health and fitness required
· Ability to work on site within a construction environment
· Ability to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding

Starting Salary £35,909.25 per annum
36.25hrs per week
£19.05 per hour
