Research Officer| 23 Months (Outside IR35)| Hybrid (Edinburgh)|

Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for a Research Officer on a 23 month contract.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyse information collected by other teams within the organisation for research purposes and effectively communicate findings to various stakeholders in sensitive, engaging, and innovative ways.
  • Generate literature and rapid reviews of research to advise and direct the efforts of the organisation, ensuring the utilization of high-quality data throughout its operations.
  • Investigate and assess the implementation of public policies.
  • Identify, research, and obtain relevant information for the organisation's work, including historical, national, and local government records, as well as other institutional records, legislation, and published research.
  • Take ownership of project objectives and targets.
  • Assist in copy-editing and proofreading reports to ensure consistency and accuracy in both content and format across all outputs.
  • Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, fostering productive relationships with colleagues throughout the Inquiry.
  • Provide support for additional tasks within the Policy and Research Team as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Gathering, managing, manipulating and analysing complex and sensitive data for research purposes
  • Working on complex, large-scale research projects and datasets
  • IT literacy, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook
  • Using research analysis software such as NVivo, SPSS, R, or Jamovi.
  • A strong commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Personal resilience and the ability to deal with what can be a distressing subject matter.
