Full Job Description

Nuclear Services is a specialist technical area, and we bring together technical capabilities to support the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear new build projects and the existing Nuclear Operations operating stations and decommissioning sites.

Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Security, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading on all security related business and financial planning activities across Nuclear Services and as part of the Technical Client Organisation that underpin the identification, delivery and tracking of security risks and requirements of the nuclear licensees.

This is a business planning and coordination position with one direct report. This role requires engagement with a virtual team drawn from across the Technical Client Organisation including Nuclear Services and the three nuclear licensees to ensure all security related business enablers and resources are fully aligned.,

  • Acting as the primary interface between Nuclear Services (both Nuclear Security & Business Support) and the nuclear licensees to coordinate all related nuclear security workforce planning to support reconciliation of licensee demand with Nuclear Services capacity.

  • Working alongside the NuOps, HPC and SZC Technical Programs, Nuclear Services Business & Commercial team and the Nuclear Security branch managers to generate and help balance annual licensee / Nuclear Services task orders.

  • Coordinating the planning and preparation monthly licensee / Nuclear Security accountability meetings and packs to support effective licensee risk ownership and oversight.

  • Supporting branch managers, acting as the primary interface with EDF Early Careers to support the selection, onboarding and management of Nuclear Security's graduates and apprentices alongside act as the representative on all steering groups and Discipline Chair meetings.

  • Acting as the primary interface between Nuclear Security, Nuclear Services Business Support respective licensee Organisational Capability teams to coordinate all LC36 and MOC requirements.

  • Supporting Nuclear Services' work planning and Medium Term Plan (both Nuclear Services and licensee) budget forecasting.

    Proven experience of external stakeholder management at executive level with nuclear operators, regulators and Governmental agencies.

  • Proven ability to influence and inform.

  • Working knowledge of project management with experience.

  • Proven people, team leadership and management ability and skills.

  • Knowledge and experience of workforce planning with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to assimilate rapidly pertinent information from a variety of sources (written and spoken) and recommend clear courses of action.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to gain people's trust, influence outcomes and find a pragmatic balance between business and nuclear security requirements.

  • Nuclear Industry experience is desirable.

  • Good knowledge and experience of relevant regulations and policy including Nuclear Industries Security Regulations (NISR) 2003 and ONR (CNSS) Nuclear Security Assessment Principles is desirable.

    Gloucester Business Park, Gloucester or Atlantic Quay, Glasgow. Hybrid role, minimum 2/3 days in office per week.
