Senior Bookkeeper

This is a permanent full-time position joining our team within a busy importation and distribution company.

The office hours are Monday to Friday 09.00 to 16.30.

Main duties for the role are the management of,

• Enter and allocate all payments, receipts & refunds on Xero accounting system.


• Reconcile Bank, Worldpay & Paypal account balances each week.


• Reconcile Sales, Purchase & General Ledger.


• Search for and correct any discrepancies/mis-postings.


• Submit quarterly VAT returns.


• Provide year end reports to the external Accountants.


• Make payments to suppliers as they fall due via RBS Bankline


• Manage weekly payroll

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of our organisation. This is a key role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and proficiency in various accounting software., Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Manage company pension scheme, assessing eligibility for auto enrolment, join new members and allocate contributions to each employee's pension plan each month.


• Raise management information reports.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £27,000 - £32,000 per year commensurate with experience., Competitive salary based on experience
