About the roles

We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for two Senior Intelligence Analysts, one to work in our Workforce Intelligence Team and the other in our Performance and Intelligence Team at the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

These are two new positions, one reporting to the Workforce Intelligence Manager in our Workforce, Education and Standards directorate and the other to the Performance and Intelligence Manager in our Performance and Improvement directorate.

If you have a keen analytical mind, an ability to learn quickly and gather, analyse and relay date and intelligence in an innovative and engaging way, then one of these roles may be for you.

Senior Intelligence Analyst – Workforce Intelligence Team

You will play a key role in supporting the Workforce Intelligence Team to deliver the data, analysis and intelligence required to support workforce planning and development across social work, social care, and children and young people’s services, providing recommendations and solutions for future planning and development. This work also includes the production of official statistics.

You will use your expertise in data management and analysis to gather, evaluate and analyse complex information from a wide range of internal/external sources to show patterns and trends and develop and deliver products that will help support workforce planning and policy implementation. A focus of the role will be engaging with national partners and the Scottish Government in relation to workforce data needs.

Senior Intelligence Analyst – Business Intelligence Team

You will be to play a lead role in the delivery of time sensitive analysis to support the performance and intelligence requirements of the SSSC.

Your work will drive changes to the organisation through the design and production of a variety of robust analytical reports and products that meet management and other stakeholder requirements.

We have many technical and data experts and many different data sets. You will work across departments to set up a corporate approach to data use and develop partnership working with other public bodies to use data and share intelligence.

Who we are

We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and early years services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) publishes data and intelligence on the social service workforce. The SSSC is the Official Statistics producer for data on the sector’s workforce and is part of the UK sector skills council for social services, Skills for Care and Development (SfCD).

We protect the public by registering social work, social care and early years workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.

What you need to succeed

For both roles we are looking for someone with:

  • a degree in a relevant subject
  • proven experience in an analytical field using a range of methods to gain insight and intelligence from large volumes of data
  • an understanding of evaluation methods with the ability to interpret complex information, develop inferences and make recommendations.
  • strong communication and engagement skills who puts the customer first.
  • the ability to be naturally inquisitive, resourceful and work well both autonomously and collaboratively with teams.
  • well-developed influencing, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Why work for us

We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service). Please note new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range.
