• Champion a domain-based approach to data management working closely with domain experts to meets diverse needs across the Investment Platform.


• Drive the development of a contribution model that encourages active participation and code sharing spanning multiple engineering teams.


• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to adopt and contribute to shared libraries, emphasising a unified approach to analytics.


• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams.


• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.


• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.


• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle


• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.


• Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  
  Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience


• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.


• Advance level of technical expertise in Java or Python and modern programming paradigms


• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, particularly data pipelines for moving/transforming data.


• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.


• Exposure to AWS via hands on experience or certification


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Ability to present and effectively communicate with other engineering teams to drive design decisions.


• Knowledge in Snowflake and Iceberg


• Preferred exposure to functional programming e.g., Kotlin
