Full Job Description
Peace Recruitment is recruiting a highly skilled and motivated Chartered Senior or Associate Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team in Edinburgh.
Our client in a leading international construction consultancy with offices in most major cities across the world. In Scotland, they have a couple of major projects which require support on, additional to this they have commercial projects, residential developments, regeneration projects, healthcare, education, BTR, PBSA and others.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of quantity surveying services for various projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes within budget and schedule constraints from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on all quantity surveying matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Undertake cost planning, cost control, and cost management activities to optimize project budgets and financial performance.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive bills of quantities and tender documents.
- Conduct procurement activities, including tendering, contract negotiation, and subcontractor management.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and final accounts in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives and client satisfaction.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
Requirements:
- MRICS Chartered status
- Proven experience in a senior quantity surveying role within the construction industry, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, CostX, etc
- Knowledge of the local construction market and regulations in Scotland is advantageous.
