Senior Quantity Surveyor

Edinburgh, Scotland

My client, who are a construction company specializing in fit-out projects for the NHS, Education, and commercial clients, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction, they deliver exceptional results that exceed expectations.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and procurement activities for their fit-out projects in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of fit-out projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships.
  • Monitor project costs, track variations, and implement cost control measures.
  • Conduct valuations, payments, and final accounts in accordance with contract terms.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
  • Resolve commercial disputes and claims in a proactive and efficient manner.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on fit-out projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications such as MS Excel, CostX, and project management software.
