My client, who are a construction company specializing in fit-out projects for the NHS, Education, and commercial clients, are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. They are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and procurement activities for their fit-out projects in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of fit-out projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships.
• Monitor project costs, track variations, and implement cost control measures.
• Conduct valuations, payments, and final accounts in accordance with contract terms.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
• Resolve commercial disputes and claims in a proactive and efficient manner.
• Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications such as MS Excel, CostX, and project management software.
