Full Job Description

Job Title: Site Engineer
Location: East of Scotland
Employment: Full-time, permanent

Our client, a privately owned civil engineering contractor operating throughout Scotland, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis for projects in the East of Scotland. They specifically seek candidates with prior experience in the Scottish Water Framework.

As part of this team, you will contribute to the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct setting out and surveying activities.
  • Establish and maintain a safe working environment on-site.
  • Oversee quality control and health and safety compliance.
  • Implement strategies as directed by management.
  • Collaborate with site staff and subcontractors.
  • Review design plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy.
  • Produce 2D & 3D site sketches.
  • Develop method statements and risk assessments.
  • Provide support to the team and perform other site engineering duties as needed.
  • Manage material reconciliations and minimize waste on-site.
  • Maintain regular communication with the client.
  • Mentor and train junior staff as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum HNC level education in Civil Engineering.
  • Prior experience on Scottish Water projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in heavy civil engineering environments.
  • 5 years + experience working as a Site Engineer on Civil Engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting-out and surveying.
  • CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft packages and AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to work across various locations in Scotland.
  • Full UK driver's license.
