Requirements

Vacancy: 20 Hour Post available - Friday and Saturday (10 hour nightshifts)

The teams are well structured and there is a very low turnover of staff and a low sickness absence rate, which reflects the very good levels of support, supervision and professional development. You will be joining a responsive, progressive and innovative Social Work resource where children's needs are central to policy, practice and partnership working.

There are two parts to residential childcare worker qualification requirements which you should hold or be willing to work towards. You must have a practice qualification plus an award of certificated knowledge, or one qualification which meets the full criteria. The main qualifications are detailed below: SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7 and HNC Social Services. Please refer to the SSSC website for a full list of acceptable qualifications.

  • Ensure appropriate Care Plans for all young people are in place.

  • Focus on daily requirements of providing a high level of care to all young people.

  • Ensure professional development is maintained in accordance with the requirements of the SSSC.

  • Provide a positive role model with a clear view of purpose of task.

  • Work appropriately with partner agencies and colleagues.

    Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
