Full Job Description

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Facilities Assistant to provide a range of services to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities in Hamilton Town House. You will be required to assist at events, to set up equipment for functions and to undertake cleaning duties.

You must be able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays to meet the needs of our events schedule.

Shift patterns are a mixture of early shifts (7.30 - 15.30), day shifts (9.00 - 17.00) and late shifts (tend to start approximately 15.00 and finish only when the event is complete).

We are looking for a flexible individual with customer service experience. The post will involve working shifts in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays.

Please note applicants must be 18 years of age or older in order to comply with Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005., To undertake cleaning and gritting duties within the building complex and surrounding grounds as required.

To assist with the setting up of equipment, tables, chairs etc for meetings/conferences/ receptions, attending and assisting at these functions and operation of various alarm systems.

To maintain high hygiene standards.

Ensure customers comfort and welfare during events.

Assist in the event of an emergency and evacuation of the premises.

Open and close the building, ensuring access for authorised personnel and visitors, carrying out regular inspections, and monitoring and operation of various alarm systems.

To be the contact for emergencies within the building e.g. lift breakdowns.
