Full Job Description

As a Social Performance Specialist, you will serve as a regional subject-matter expert on social value, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive social outcomes for Scotland's Railway. You will support the delivery of the Scotland's Railway Climate Action Plan, overseeing the development, delivery and reporting of the social value plan.

You will coordinate volunteer activities, engage with charitable and community partners, and provide specialist advice on all aspects of social performance to support teams across the Scotland region. A proactive approach will be essential in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing best practices to drive continuous progress towards Scotland's Railway social value objectives.

About the role (External)

Here are some of the duties your role will include: -

· Provide specialist support and guidance to the Scotland region on all aspects of social value.

· Develop and maintain a suite of metrics and lead the reporting of social performance to provide insight into the regions progress against its social value objectives.

· Manage the delivery of a range of prioritised charitable and community investment activities internally and externally to improve social performance.

· Represent the Scotland region in national social value projects.

· Develop and manage a programme of works to deliver targeted improvements to the regions approach to managing social performance.

· Co-ordinate regional volunteering activities.

· Create and monitor the implementation of regional social performance policies, plans, and good practice guides to facilitate the delivery of the regions social value delivery plan, in line with corporate requirements and in response to sustainable development related recommendations arising from industry changes.

· Develop internal and external communications, such as cascades, briefings, lessons learned, and case studies, fostering a culture of learning within Scotland's Railway.

· Engage with various external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and social value and performance specialists from across the rail industry and the supply chain, to progress on and devise innovative approaches for the region’s social performance priorities.

· Knowledge and appreciation of social performance and project management disciplines to a high standard

· Good performance measurement and analysis skills

· Good communication, presentation, and persuasion skills

· A business focus, with experience of balancing social performance goals against other business objectives

· Experience in implementing social performance good practice within large and complex organisations.

· Degree in a relevant subject

· Membership of relevant professional body

Salary: Starting at £35,582 and rising to £40,029 per annum.
