Software Developer in Test| 6 Months (Outside IR35)| Remote (Occasional Glasgow Office Attendance)

Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for 2x Software Developer in Test for a period of 6 months. They are looking for someone that brings solid experience in testing Java-based web services and microservices, both through automated and manual approaches, employing a diverse array of tooling. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong passion for thriving in agile environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a compact team of Software Developer in Test specialists to ensure comprehensive understanding, integration, and delivery of test plans, prioritizing automation wherever feasible.
  • Manage and synchronize test schedules efficiently.
  • Develop and sustain testing artefacts, proactively identifying future opportunities or obstacles, and ensuring team decisions align with the overarching strategy.
  • Provide assistance to and collaborate with third-party entities in delivering testing services.

Essentials Skills

  • Best Practice test approaches
  • Test Automation in CI/CD pipelines
  • Selenium/WebDriver test automation
  • Java and JavaScript
  • BDD test tooling (Gherkin/Cucumber)
  • Proficient around Linux based environments
  • AWS environment experience
  • Mariadb/Oracle/Mysql experience
  • Translate technical concepts between infrastructure, delivery management and service management so they are understood by all.
  • Able to speak on behalf of technical and service management teams and facilitate the relationships with indirect stakeholders.
