Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is Monday-Wednesday (18.5 hours).

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

The opportunity has arisen to join the Renfrewshire School Nursing Team as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, (SCPHN), School Nurse, Band 6 working 18.75 hours per week.

As fully described within the Job Description, the post holder will work as part of the School Nursing Service to support the continued implementation of the School Nursing Public Health Pathways for Renfrewshires School-aged children and young people. 

It is essential you bring experience and in-depth knowledge of the health needs of the school aged population to ensure service provision is effective, efficient, culturally sensitive and evidenced based to reduce health inequalities and promote health and wellbeing for children and young people within school and the community.

The post holder will work in partnership with service users, local authorities and other key partners to deliver quality, evidenced based and person-cantered care in line with GIRFEC principles. You will fulfil child protection and safe guarding responsibilities in line with current Child Protection Guidance and local policy.

You will be an experienced SCPHN qualified School Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council therefore educated to degree level. You will bring experience of working with children, young people and their families or those who care for them.
