Are you a skilled forward thinking pharmacist? Do you have an interest in working in paediatrics?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to work as an integral member of the paediatric team to provide targeted safe and effective pharmaceutical care to our patients. The Royal Hospital for Children is a busy tertiary teaching hospital situated in South Glasgow and has an excellent team of friendly pharmacy staff committed to modernisation of services and in particular ward based medicines management, pharmacist prescribing and e-health initiatives.  

The hospital provides care to large number of paediatric medical and surgical specialties and this post will contribute to the delivery of expert clinical pharmacy services to paediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, paediatric haematology and oncology, general paediatrics and medical specialties such as renal, cardiac, neurology and gastroenterology.

In addition the successful candidate will work within the team to provide support, training and mentoring to pharmacists undergoing their foundation pharmacy programme and Independent Prescribing.

You will need confidence and enthusiasm, be dynamic with a keenness to try new ways of working, along with positivity and excellent communication skills.

You should have a Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Working towards a postgraduate qualification or an Independent Prescribing qualification is essential. Commitment to CPD in line with GPhC requirements and completion of Vocational Training Scheme / Foundation Framework or equivalent experience is essential. Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday with participation in weekend working, public holidays and on call.
