Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join the Older Peoples Inpatient  Services based in Ward 6 at Queen Margaret Hospital. 

The Ward has 30 inpatient beds. We provide on going Assessment and Rehabilitation for our Elderly population. We work closely within the MDT to meet the specific needs of the patients including Physio, OT, Dietician, Tissue Viability and Psychiatry.  Ward 6 also provides ongoing care for patients awaiting discharge to Home as well as Alternative Care.

As part of the team you will contribute to the delivery of high standards of care as to support and manage patients with complex needs.  You will work closely with the MDT to ensure effective management in planning optimum care for the patients. This post requires experience in an elderly or medical setting and the relevant knowledge and skills to work within the service.
 
This is an opportunity for someone wishing to further develop their knowledge and skills within the Rehabilitation Setting and, as a role model, create a supportive ethos in the provision of a high quality service as set out in Nursing Assurance Framework.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
