Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is rotational days, nights and weekends.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to join our teams within the medical wards at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.  Opportunities are available within the following specialties; Cardiology, Diabetes/Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Respiratory and Rheumatology.

The post holder will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience. You will be able to demonstrate high professional standards of care and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting. You will utilise a broad range of knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and implementation of care for our patients.

Career pathways for our nurses include, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioner, Charge Nurse and Senior Charge Nurse. 

As a registered nurse within medical specialties, you will have the support of a structured induction, ongoing education and development from our Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists, and opportunities to develop your leadership and management skills.  We are passionate about supporting the well-being and development of our team.
