Full Job Description

We're currently looking for an experienced Statutory & Streetworks Engineer to join our team in Bellshill. In this role you'll act as a statutory and legislative advisor, supporting various internal departments with all things Streetworks! You'll be the subject matter expert in your region, educating, coaching and mentoring teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to successfully contribute to our compliance with legislation, and implement good working practises. The role will collaborate closely with suppliers, partners and local authorities to drive continuous improvement in our working processes. You'll attend local authority meetings and build strong relationships with various external partners, acting as the main point of contact for legislative and statutory requirements, as well as an escalation point for non-compliant activities., Another aspect of this role will be to complete and respond to local and national consultations, ensuring our views are highlighted, along
with leading and supporting any new legislation amendments and industry consultations that impacts the business.

  • Significant experience and knowledge in street works legislation and its effect upon cable network infrastructure development, from construction through to installation Experience in interpreting street and road works primary and secondary legislation, and associated regulations and codes of practice Significant contractor and/or NRSWA management experience. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and negotiate on key Streetworks issues with varied audiences including senior management A proven ability to build successful relationships with internal and external partners The other stuff we are looking for The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise well
