Do you have a passion for remote and rural healthcare? Are you keen to escape from lifes treadmill and embrace a healthier work life balance? If you answered yes, NHS Western Isles has the perfect opportunity for you.  This is an exciting chance to join our Occupational Therapy team, where you will become part of the NHS Western Isles family and will have the chance to develop your skills and confidence within a supportive team, with the remote island location providing a very special extra sense of reward.

Working as part of the Stroke Multi-disciplinary Team and other local and mainland neurology colleagues, an OT service is provided for people with stroke and other acquired and progressive neurological conditions across the Western Isles.

You will work directly with patients who have a range of difficulties impacting on occupational performance. Conditions seen includes stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, functional neurological disorders and neurosurgical conditions e.g. traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury. People are seen in the hospital, out-patient clinics and in their home and community environment.

You will require a current full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for which allowances will be payable.

We offer the support of a professional and well-established integrated team of Occupational Therapy staff who work across the Western Isles with links to a national network of Occupational Therapists working in Primary Care across Scotland.

Also known as the Outer Hebrides, the Western Isles are steeped in history and culture, with stunning landscapes, spectacular coastlines, a strong sense of community and identity, and renowned Hebridean hospitality. For those with young families, the Western Isles also offer a safe place to live, a high-quality education system, with low levels of crime.
