Sub Agent

Role Overview: As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for assisting the Site Agent in managing various aspects of the construction project at Dounreay Substation. You'll play a crucial role in coordinating subcontractors, overseeing works packages, and ensuring that construction activities are carried out efficiently and to the highest standards.

The project is a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission system between Finstown in Orkney and Dounreay in Caithness, capable of transmitting no less than 220MW of power and you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that all project objectives are met within specified timeframes.

All accommodation, travel and subsistence payments will be covered by the contractor. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor management.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that works packages are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Monitor progress against project milestones and budgets, identifying any deviations or issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other project documentation in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site staff, resolving technical queries and coordinating design changes as required.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, including daily diaries, photographic records, and as-built drawings, to document project activities and achievements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
• Proficiency in construction software and tools, such as project management software and CAD programs, is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
