Full Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Global Support Engineer for a globally expanding controls company. This role forms an essential part of the company's IWOCS & Service business.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you would be responsible for Customer interfacing, Design, New product development, sustaining engineering, project and bid support to ensure Proserv provide solutions that are best placed to secure opportunities globally. You will manage and facilitate all elements of the engineering process and will be responsible for regular progress reporting to internal stakeholders for the IWOCS & Service business.

You must be able to drive compliance with internal processes, work with internal and external teams to mitigate risks associated with the IWOCS & Service business, will be responsible for delivering a broad range of Technical support to the business.

Some of the Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following):

  • Oversee the technical management aspects of the Operational Compliance Standards program for the IWOCs & Service business Globally.

  • Assess design brief to produce the best solution to product/project requirements, considering, timescale, cost, safety, and current client and industry standards.

  • Ensure all equipment drawings and manuals are kept up to date with any engineering changes.

  • Engineering support for equipment fault diagnosis and resolution.

  • Integrate products and technologies from within the group to achieve said solution and offer external product solutions to compete project brief.

  • Perform engineering work to produce required product/project documentation, drawings, calculations, procedures, reports etc.

  • Check work of colleagues for project sign off.

  • Provision of client engineering support including attending client meetings as required.

  • Attend testing and/or installation of company equipment offsite.

  • Collate bid information for composition of tender documents in support of the bid team.

  • Work within the other groups of the company to gain experience of company product lines and how to explore new markets with existing technology or combining technologies.

  • Offer support and guidance to junior or less experienced members of the team to aid the growth and development of the company.

  • Provision of technical support for technicians deployed offshore.

  • Work closely with internal and external groups for New Product Development (NPD)

  • Proven experience in an Engineering/Senior Engineering role within a similar organisation.

  • Experienced in providing technical support within a service company including writing engineering procedures.

  • Product and system design experience for the Oil and Gas Industry.

  • Knowledge of IWOCS Systems, Umbilicals, Christmas Trees, design, function and integration.

  • Experienced in 2D and 3D drawing packages, Mathematical analysis using classic methods and software packages, Microsoft Office.


  • Preferred
  • BEng or MEng, however a combination of Diploma and experience will be considered.

  • Currently Chartered or Willing to work towards chartership with a recognised body.

  • Project management skills, knowledge of structural design, hydraulic systems.

  • Knowledge of other areas within the mechanical field which can complement the core skill set.

  • Practical experience in a mechanical discipline.
