Full Job Description
Responsible for ensuring that cargo for offshore shipment has been fully inspected, with all relevant certification and documentation being verified completely. To record any non-conformance and highlight as soon as possible to allow for the repair/fixing of cargo to allow for the safe shipment offshore. Duties include:
- Inspect all cargo delivered to the Gantry in accordance with OGUK Best Practice Safe Packing and Handling of Cargo to and from Offshore Locations and ASCO Global Operating Procedure GOP-QS-001
- Check off cargo against cargo summary ticket, checking all aspects of the load, i.e. Documentation, Certification, Dangerous Goods, Placarding, Integrity, Lifting Equipment, etc.
- Ensure all cargo complies with client shipping matrix(s)
- Accurately record all discrepancies and raise non-conformances via the QMS tablet and SIDs as required in conjunction with Shipping.
- Liaise with Shipping Controllers and other quayside personnel as required to ensure communications is optimised regarding inbound materials.
- Confirm dangerous goods documentation is correct and labelling conforms with IMDG requirements.
- Attend and Participate in Pre-Job briefings and Toolbox talks.
- Attend and actively contribute to monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure knowledge and understanding of procedures, work aids and risk assessments pertaining to the role, suggest improvements or updates as applicable.
- Ensure Gantry worksite is maintained in clean and tidy condition, both externally and internally.
