Full Job Description
As an After-School Club Support Worker in our new setting in Roslin, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children attending our after-school programs. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to support the delivery of high-quality activities and care for children, ensuring they have a positive and enriching experience during their time with us.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in Program Delivery
· Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and programs in line with the club's objectives and curriculum.
· Engage children in a variety of recreational and creative activities, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Supervision and Safety:
· Maintain a safe and secure environment by actively supervising children during activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
· Monitor children's behaviour and intervene when necessary to promote positive interactions and resolve conflicts effectively.
Care and Support:
· Provide care and support to children, addressing their individual needs and concerns with empathy and understanding.
· Assist with basic routines, such as snack times, ensuring children's comfort and well-being.
Communication and Collaboration:
· Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering open communication and collaboration.
· Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on children's progress, behaviour, and any relevant information.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and observations, documenting children's development and any notable occurrences.
· Assist in the preparation of reports and evaluations as required by organisational processes
Professional Development:
· Participate in training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge in childcare, child development, and relevant topics.
· Stay informed about best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes in childcare and education.
· Previous experience working with children in a childcare, or recreational setting is desirable.
· A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their holistic development.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
· Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.,
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
- Home care: 1 year (preferred)
- English (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
