Full Job Description

Peace Recruitment is working alongside a well-established family-owned civil engineering contractor who is seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will oversee the execution of our flagship distillery project and manage commercial and residential developments in Inverness. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile projects while ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage groundworks activities on site, including excavation, foundations, and drainage.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop engineering solutions that optimise project efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress and quality of workmanship.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, resolving any engineering issues that may arise.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, reports, and construction records.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and construction staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering role, with a focus on groundworks and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of ground engineering principles, including excavation, piling, and earthworks.
  • Experience with temporary works design and implementation is desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
