Technical Lead

As a Barclays Technical Lead, you will work on multiple projects or modules to understand requirements, develop and implement Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Consumption solutions via real time and batch integrations under an ML Ops platform capability. This is an opportunity to also be responsible for building both on-prem & cloud-based integration framework & automation solutions, along with migration of on-prem applications on to Cloud infrastructure., At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

• Having lead responsibility for agile development methodology and practice it in day to day work


• Ensuring DevOps principles are adopted in applications


• Leading on change requests incidents against applications /products within domain


• Taking responsibility for story based development & unit test and adherence to all coding standards


• Being accountable for application development & unit testing


• Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind


• Reporting progress in JIRA against assigned activities in a timely manner


• Taking on the role of Engineering Lead within the team, both technically and culturally
  
  Cloud Engineering experience (preferably AWS, Azure, IaC development)


• Data Engineering experience (preferably PySpark, ETL, Database Design)


• Machine Learning experience (preferably Python, Neural Network, Classification)


• Data Visualization experience (preferably Tableau, Power BI)


Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge of Containerization


• Familiarity with Unix & Shell Scripting


• Knowledge of Corporate Software Development Lifecycle


• Excellent Presentation skills
