Job Description

Reporting to the Group Manager (Parking Services) you will be part of a team that delivers an effective parking service for Glasgow.

You will assist in the design of major parking control schemes and minor parking restriction measures, the statutory Traffic Regulation Order process, management of works programmes, enforcement of existing on-road parking restrictions and bus priority measures, and the management and maintenance of the city's parking assets.

You must have the ability to produce reports, collate performance monitoring information, liaise with external contractors and other bodies, and meet project timescales within budget. You must also be able to provide technical advice, respond to correspondence from members of the public/elected members and attend site meetings/public exhibitions when necessary.

A minimum of an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, good communication skills, proficient IT skills and a current driving licence are essential. The ability to attend meetings outside standard office hours is also required.

It is also essential to possess AutoCAD experience for the creation of drawings such as, but not limited to, road markings, traffic calming and signage design.

Previous experience of a roads/traffic/road safety related environment, report writing, works planning, budgetary control and a knowledge and understanding of roads and traffic legislation is desirable.
