Our client, based in South Edinburgh, is a forward-thinking and successful business in the engineering industry, in search of a Technical Project Manager to join their team on a 1-year fixed term contractual basis.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a vital role in managing complex multi-disciplinary product developments in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinate the activities of internal and sub-contracted resources.
Manage budgets and prepare proposals.
Act as the main point of contact with clients.
Support business development activities.
Ensure projects are conducted in accordance with ISO quality management system standards.
Maintain project plans and ensure milestones are met.
Track and adhere to project budgets.
Manage sub-contractors, including contract management.
Foster effective communication between project stakeholders.

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Degree level qualification in Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing of products or equivalent professional experience.
Substantial and proven experience in managing concurrent complex projects.
Excellent communication skills, including liaising with commercial clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
Evidence of significant budget responsibility.
Ability to lead teams and deliver to requirements.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic control systems.
Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Project management experience.
Professional project management qualification (APM/PMP).
Familiarity with risk management.
Familiarity with CAD packages (electrical & mechanical).

Salary: 45,000-50,000 per annum
