NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse post within the Inpatient Services department based at Mid Argyll Hospital.

Mid Argyll Hospital is situated on the west coast of Scotland. It is a Community Hospital within a bustling town.

Inpatient services consists of a 15 bedded GP acute ward which cares for acute admissions.

The Accident and Emergency department is located in the hospital. There is also a busy Outpatient department with visiting consultants from a range of specialities.

Rehabilitation services from the multi-disciplinary team are also provided, as are day case services to provide adjunct therapies and transfusions, etc.

Mid Argyll affords great opportunities for excellent work/life balance.

Outdoor pursuits are available with local organised events such as the Mid Argyll Triathlon and there are great cycling and water sports on the doorstep.

The islands of Islay, Gigha, Arran and Jura are easily accessible with a good ferry service.
