At Highland Home Carers, we're more than just a care provider. As an employee-owned organisation, our success is shared with the people who make it happen every day.

We're looking for caring, compassionate and reliable female Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Inverness, supporting an individual with complex needs to live safely, independently and as fully as possible within their own home and community.

No previous care experience? That's absolutely fine. We're looking for the right values, attitude and enthusiasm. We'll provide the training, qualifications and ongoing support to help you build a rewarding career in care.

Please note: This post is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the personal care needs of the individual being supported.

Why Join Highland Home Carers?

✅ £13.50 - £15.13 per hour

✅ Employee ownership with annual profit share

✅ Paid training through our Adult Social Care Academy

✅ SVQ Opportunities

✅ Clear opportunities for career development

✅ 6.2 weeks annual leave (pro-rata)

✅ Company sick pay

✅ 4% employer pension contribution

✅ Early Pay access

✅ Free uniform and PPE

✅ £500 Refer-a-Friend bonus

✅ Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family

✅ Blue Light Card discounts

✅ Support from a friendly and experienced team

Whether you're looking to start a career in care or build on existing experience, we'll support you every step of the way.

A Role That Truly Matters

This is more than a support worker role. It's an opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone's life every day.

You'll provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and choice, helping the individual you support enjoy life, achieve personal goals and remain connected to their community.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll build meaningful relationships and play an important role in helping someone live the life they choose.

We are looking for two caring, fun loving Support Practitioners to support a young lady in their own home and to ensure they maintain independence and their active social life in the local area of Kirkhill.

This is a ONE to ONE support package, requiring two Support Practitioners to share the shifts across 21hrs a week, over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

This is a highly rewarding role which can also be challenging at times, so it is important that applicants are confident in following structured routines, setting clear and positive professional boundaries and remaining calm, patient and consistent.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting an individual with complex needs to live independently in their own home and community
  • Providing person-centred support that promotes dignity, choice and wellbeing
  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, medication and daily living activities
  • Building positive, trusting relationships and providing emotional support
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies, interests and community activities
  • Following individual support plans and promoting positive outcomes
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to a safe, supportive environment
  • Supporting the individual's physical, emotional and social wellbeing
  • Providing high-quality support in line with Highland Home Carers' values and standards

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is caring, compassionate and reliable
  • Enjoys building positive relationships with others
  • Has patience, empathy and a good sense of humour
  • Is confident, resilient and able to remain calm in different situations
  • Wants to make a genuine difference to someone's life
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is willing to learn and undertake training
  • Shares Highland Home Carers' values and commitment to person-centred support
  • Is enthusiastic, positive and motivated to support others

Essential Requirements

  • Female applicants only (Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full & valid UK Driving Licence is required (the individual has her own vehicle)
  • Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Commitment to undertaking training and professional development

Previous care experience is welcomed but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Overseas Applicants (Please note)

As this role is Part Time - it is therefore not suitable for overseas applicants.

More Than a Job. A Career With Purpose.

Working in care isn't always easy, but it is one of the most rewarding careers you can choose.

Every shift provides an opportunity to make a lasting difference, helping someone maintain their independence, achieve their goals and enjoy the best possible quality of life.

If you're looking for a role where you'll be valued, supported and able to make a real impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.
