The Department of Social Work and Social Policy seeks a Local Learning Partnership Lead, to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) funded West of Scotland Local Learning Partnership (LLP). The LLP Lead will coordinate a complex multi-agency collaboration across universities, Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSPCs) and third-sector organisations. The aim of this partnership is to strengthen and sustain high-quality practice learning across the West of Scotland, increase placement capacity, and to develop and sustain the practice education workforce.
The LLP ‘test and learn’ initiative aims to formalise and strengthen partnership working through improved governance, shared systems and workforce development. The LLP Lead will play a central role in driving this transition and ensuring sustainable, high-quality provision within the West of Scotland LLP.
The postholder will lead the design, delivery and embedding of sustainable systems for practice learning, workforce development and partnership working, ensuring delivery of project objectives and long-term sector impact. This work will be co-produced with the partnership members which includes: three universities, five local authorities and nine third sector partners.
To be considered for the role, you will have a good honours degree in a relevant discipline and a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in social work, public policy or a related field. You will have significant experience leading and managing complex projects or programmes; experience of working across organisational boundaries (e.g. HE, public sector, third sector) and knowledge of practice learning systems, placement models, or professional education. Secondment applications are welcome, subject to line management approval.
Initial interviews have been scheduled for 14th September 2026.
