Property Maintenance Assistant, Paisley Campus

35 hours per week,

Grade 3

£29,087.84 - £31,432.52 per annum

The successful candidate will support the Estates Department in all aspects of maintenance delivery by providing a comprehensive reactive and planned maintenance service for all equipment and services within the College. You will undertake routine repairs and inspections reported to the Estates Department within agreed priority timescales. You will be “on call” outside of normal working hours for any emergencies/breakdowns at the campus or related properties. The successful candidate will carry out unlocking and locking up duties, ensuring that the security alarm system is fully operational so that College premises are available during the required hours and secured at all other times.


You must have a basic understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act as well as having a First Aid at Work Certificate or have the willingness to undertake the First Aid at Work certification course. The successful candidate will have experience in crafts in plumbing, electrical, decorating or previous experience in a caretaking role including repairs and maintenance. It is essential that the successful candidate has knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the post including legislation and COSHH. You must have the ability to work a flexible shift work pattern and be able to work out of hours i.e. emergency response and be willing to travel to other sites if required. Please also note that due to the nature of this role, you maybe required to work on a public holiday.
