Full Job Description
As a Relief Support Worker, you'll provide flexible support across our service, helping adults with learning disabilities live independently and enjoy fulfilling lives. No two days are the same, and your flexibility will help ensure individuals continue to receive the high quality, person centred support they deserve.
What you will do
* Support individuals with daily living tasks and personal care where required
* Encourage independence and help develop life skills
* Support people with meals, household tasks and managing their home
* Encourage participation in community activities, education, work and leisure opportunities
* Build positive relationships with individuals, families and other professionals
* Act as a key worker where required
* Maintain accurate records using digital systems
* Promote dignity, choice and person centred support in everything you do
About you
You'll be reliable, compassionate and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting people to live independently. You'll be comfortable working flexibly across the service and enjoy building positive relationships with a wide range of individuals and colleagues.
Experience in social care is welcomed but not essential, as full training will be provided. You'll have basic IT skills and be willing to learn. You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Why work with us?
Relief working offers the flexibility to fit work around your lifestyle while still making a meaningful difference. You'll receive a full induction, ongoing training and the opportunity to gain experience across different teams and services, all while being part of a supportive organisation that values your contribution.
If you're looking for flexible work with real purpose, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the forefront of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK.
