Relief Support Worker

As a Relief Support Worker, you'll provide flexible support across our service, helping adults with learning disabilities build independence, develop confidence and enjoy everyday life. Working across different shifts, you'll play an important role in ensuring individuals continue to receive high quality, person centred support whenever it's needed.

What you will do
* Support individuals with daily routines and personal care where required
* Encourage independence and confidence in everyday life
* Support people with household tasks and developing practical life skills
* Support individuals to access work, education, volunteering and social activities
* Act as a key worker where appropriate
* Maintain accurate records using digital systems
* Work alongside colleagues, families and other professionals
* Promote a safe, inclusive and person centred environment

About you

You don't need previous experience in care to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with compassion, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support others. You'll have good communication skills, basic IT skills and be keen to learn.

You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
