Security Officer | Full time | 35 hours
Full Time Salary: £26,881 (£14.71 per hour) plus additional £4,435 shift allowance
Hours: 35 hours per week (equivalence)| 14 twelve hour shifts, including weekends and night working over a 28 day shift cycle which repeats 13 times a year
Location: Fully On-Site

About the Security Officer role:
Working as part of a professional security team, you will ensure and maintain the security, safety and integrity of all National Museums Scotland buildings and provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors and collections.
As a Security Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:
* Patrol and secure the Site to ensure any intrusion, flood or fires are prevented and / or detected as soon as possible
* Monitor CCTV systems as appropriate, assisting in preparing footage for any CCTV investigations
* Support our Visitor Experience staff in dealing with emergency and conflict situations
* Adhere to and apply all Security Control Room and out of hours procedures including the verification and issuing of identification passes to all visitors, contractors and staff
Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Security Officer:
* Experience of working in a security environment
* Experience in dealing with security incidents / situations requiring an immediate or timed response
* Ability to remain calm and positive when dealing with a wide range of enquiries and situations
* Knowledge of receptions duties / access control for staff, contractors and visitors
* Good knowledge of security, fire, intruder and CCTV systems and procedures
