The Faculty of Science is seeking to appoint a Senior IT Technician with established Helpdesk, IT Support, communication and interpersonal skills. The post will require you to work innovatively to deliver services to a wide range of customer groups.


You will deliver a professional and effective Helpdesk service, providing first- and second-line IT Support. The role involves working as part of a small team who support the Faculty of Science staff and postgraduate students within the University based in multiple buildings in the city centre campus. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the day-to-day support requirements as requested by customers, respond to incidents that arise, and work on projects as and when they are commissioned. It is an exciting and fast-paced environment in which to work. You will be required to work with other teams within the Faculty IT Team as well as liaising with specialist IT teams within the central Information Services Directorate (ISD).


Excellent interpersonal skills, an HNC/HND or equivalent in an IT related discipline, IT Support experience, and knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office are essential. 

It is anticipated that formal interviews for this post will be held over 22nd/23rd July 2026
