This apprenticeship programme allows you to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world automotive environment

As a Vehicle Paint Technician Apprentice, you'll learn how to prepare and apply paint finishes to vehicles that have been repaired by body technicians. The role involves recognizing a variety of vehicle materials and understanding the preparation techniques required for high-quality finishes.

What will I learn? TYPICAL DAY

Preparing vehicles to be painted after the damage has occurred or panels have been replaced, this can include repairing minor scratches to match the rest of the vehicle.

Ensuring all parts are stripped from the vehicle for it to be painted.

Sanding down relevant areas and adjoining areas for blending

Masking out areas that will need to be treated.

Etching and priming the area to be treated

Selecting, mixing, and matching colour

SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN

Excellent practical skills

The ability to work quickly but also pay attention to detail.

The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team.

Good communication skills

The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

What qualifications or qualities are required?

Nationals at level 4 or above in English and Math’s

It is also preferred if you have a Craft Subject and physics/science these are advantageous but not mandatory.

A desire to work in the Automotive Industry

The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Confidence in problem-solving

Initial Assessments and interviews will be carried by Inspiro Learning.
